WHY DO MOST PEOPLE ONLY “ALMOST” DO IT?

In this article:

Do you ever find it hard to keep focus on your goals?

Why does your mind wander? Why is it so hard to complete things you start? Here’s how it usually works. You find something you want to do. You’re excited:

  • You get your equipment
  • You get your instruction
  • You get your schedule
  • You get started!

You’re on your way…this is going to be fun.

This is going to open up a whole new chapter in your life.
You’re finally going to do something you’ve always wanted to do. It could be learning to play a musical instrument. It could be learning a new language, or sport. It could be diving or going to the gym and getting in shape. Who knows? This might be the time to start that running program that you used to do years ago, but pretty soon interests fade, life interferes, and your new project has been totally derailed.

What went wrong? How did you get off track?
It’s because speed controls focus. It’s because life is so demanding, complicated and unpredictable. We have many responsibilities and limited time. That’s why so many things only get done at the last minute. Unless there is a deadline staring us down our attention gets diverted in other directions. There’s only so much you can keep on your mind at one time.

Here’s the issue you must deal with.
Big changes take big efforts. The bigger the change you’re going for in your life, the faster you need to go for it.

If you’re going for something, a small change, or a small goal, you don’t have to rush. It’s not going to take much effort. You can take your time, you can live your balanced life, and you can gradually get it done.

Go slow and you’ll never get anything BIG done…you’ll “almost” do it, but you will never really finish.
