DON’T BE RON WAYNE

In this article:

How many times do people need to be told?

Don’t quit! Don’t get overwhelmed by temporary problems and quit on things you have invested a lot of time and effort into. Give time for your efforts to compound and multiply. Everyone gets frustrated with co-workers. Everyone is over-worked and totally exhausted at times. But don’t quit!

He says it doesn’t bother him
Do you believe him? He says he’s still happy with his decision. In 1976, for some reason, he decided to sell his 10% share for $800, in a company he co-founded with his buddies Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. The company, of course, was Apple.

Today that 10% would be worth $51 Billion
I hope he put that $800 to good use, because in spite of what he says I don’t think he’s very happy with that decision to sell. Granted, this is an extreme example, but the world is full of people of people who have walked away from their own golden opportunities. You don’t want that to happen to you.

So remember—take your time.
Giving up on something important to you is a big decision. If its a lost cause, of course there’s no reason to continue. But just be sure you aren’t going to have regrets when you look back years later.

When you get involved with your own “Apple,” don’t be Ron Wayne—stay and fight so you have a chance to be Steve Jobs.
