Great achievements start as an idea.
That’s where they are born. Everything starts as an idea, from buildings to businesses to inventions to cures for cancer. In the same way, holidays, parties and festivals all start as a gleam in someone’s eye. Even goals and dreams start as ideas.
Everyone gets them.
We all think of great things from time to time. Something different, fun and exciting. A new product, a better way to do things, an improvement in how to get things done at work or even a special vacation for the family. The imagination is a wonderful thing. It’s amazing that some of the most astounding ideas can just jump into your head at any time.
Not everyone follows through
Nothing is fully formed when it is ‘born.’ It’s the same with ideas. Ideas are useless unless they are nurtured, developed and put to work. One of the greatest inventors of all time, Thomas Edison, said great ideas are 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.
The fun part is getting the ideas.
It’s exhilarating! In many ways it is like the arrival of a new baby….you can’t believe it’s really here, you look on it in wonder and you get overcome with the possibilities. Now the work begins. Unless you are serious and willing to put in the time to bring it to reality, your great idea will stay just that…an idea. Just another idea that got killed by neglect.
